Seeing as I have nothing to do...

Yeah, I'm at work right now. There are no pressing matters of state here, so I present you with the new Oasis song. It is just stuck in my head. I think it's good.

Lyla by Oasis
Calling all the stars to fall
And catch the silver sunlight in your hands
Come for me, set me free
Lift me up and take me where I stand

She believes in everything
And everyone and you and yours and mine
I waited for a thousand years
For you to come and blow me out my mind

Hey Lyla
The star's about to fall
So what d'you say
Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so small
Lyla
If you can't hear me call, then I can't say
Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I fall

She's the queen of all I've seen
And every song and city far and near
Heaven help my mademoiselle
She rings the bell for all the world to hear

Hey Lyla
The star's about to fall
So what d'you say
Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so small
Lyla
If you can't hear me call, then I can't say
Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I fall

Hey Lyla
The star's about to fall
So what d'you say
Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so small
Lyla
If you can't hear me call, then I can't say
Lyla
Heaven help you catch me when I fall

Horoscope

Sometimes I am amazed at how dead on my horoscope is. Case in point,
Today's Horoscope:

Your threshold of acceptability may now be tested as contrary voices tug at your consciousness. One voice reminding you that you can do anything you choose. You want to love and be loved. You want to be needed at work. You want to be recognized for your wit and your intelligence. But the other voice is asking for quiet anonymity, for you are much to careful for indiscriminate interactions. Take a risk and let yourself be seen for who you are. You may be surprised at how liberating it feels.

Well everything except for the last two sentences are true. We all know I'm not a risk taker.
Well...an interesting weekend. Went up to Dickinson. Good to see the boys for a tiny bit. Got to see all the wonderful physics people. I miss being in that whole atmosphere. Saw Nea, physics Brian, Skip, Geoffy, Dackman, and Bass. Good fun. The infernos concert freakin' rocked. They sounded about 20 times better than we did last year. Or that is what I thought. Scotty sang my favorite Hootie song in the entire world, Hold My Hand. Ader and Cuyler did a little parody on If I Had A Million Dollars, which rocked. They all rocked. I miss it so much. Maybe I should try to find an a cappella group around here and join it. That would be cool.

Went to a suprise baby shower for one of the gals I work with. It was awesome. The surprise worked out perfectly. Plus the day turned out to be beautiful. Beckie and I went out to Applebee's that night for a little bit of food.

Sunday was Mommy's Day. So we trekked out to Old Bay restaurant and had wonderful beers and food. Ugh was super stuffed. Afterwards, Dad and I headed out to see Hitchhiker's. It started out really good, and then it puttered out. It almost seems like they picked the wrong things to show in the movie. But what do I know.

The bro comes home tomorrow. OOO Fun.

Ha....funny. I almost certain it's true though.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy me, as well as happy car! I finally picked up my *new* car Tuesday night. Hurray for my blue Volvo v50. I absolutely adore it. I haven't quite decided on a name for the car...so for now it stays happy car. Only thing I don't like about the car...it has no freakin' place to keep change for tolls. But one makes due. I still love my car.

Happy Birthday to my lil bro!!!

It's my last late night for the semester. No more late evenings for another month or so. So I'm happy about that.

Don't have anything else to report.

happy!

Can't Be Held Responsible...

Dude...might as well just start with my story. Friday night, beckie presented me with a perfectly good opportunity to go out and hang with her, steve and james?? And what did I do...I said I don't feel like it. What did I do instead, you ask? I cleaned. Yes, the entire house...dusted, vacuumed all that jazz. I also did a wonderful 30 minutes of pilates. What the hell is the matter with me?!?!?! I must have some serious chemical imbalance if I'd rather stay at home to clean and workout than go out with friends.

Saturday at King of Prussia was enjoyable. Would have been moreso if dana was able to make it. Good to see laurie, after...sheesh it must almost be a year. Glad she is getting along well down there. Yey for seeing cryssy and suzer. We had lunch at t.g.i. friday's with our overly friendly water dave, who happened to share more information with us than we really needed. It still gets me how huge that mall is. I was the only one who did any shopping...being in need of a bathing suit. *Can't fit into the suits from like 3 years ago...yeah remember crosscountry sized me. they were tiny bathing suits.*

It is May, and that is a happy thing. Warmer weather, being able to spend some time outside. Brother comes home. That should be...interesting.

I'll write when some big life changing event happens.

The middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
From the mountains of faith
To the river so deep
I must be lookin' for something
Something sacred I lost
But the river is wide
And it's too hard to cross
even though I know the river is wide
I walk down every evening and stand on the shore
I try to cross to the opposite side
So I can finally find what I've been looking for
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the valley of fear
To a river so deep
I been searching for something
Taken out of my soul
Something I'd never lose
Something somebody stole
I don't know why I go walking at night
But now I'm tired and I don't want to walk anymore
I hope it doesn't take the rest of my life
Until I find what it is I've been looking for

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the jungle of doubt
To the river so deep
I know I'm searching for something
Something so undefined
That it can only be seen
By the eyes of the blind
In the middle of the night

’M’not sure about a life after this
God knows I've never been a spiritual man
Baptized by the fire, I wade into the river
That is runnin' to the promised land

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

Math Lab Day

It's like a throw back to Dickinson. You know all those wear school colors days. Good thing that Dickinsons color was red, cause I have a whole arsenal of red clothes to wear today. It means food, fun, ballons, and prizes all day long!!

Anyways- I guess the good news is I managed to pester the insurance company into giving me my own insurance. That means all in all, I will get my car in the near future, maybe within a week or so. I suppose you can say I've managed to chill out about the whole deal. I feel like I'm more calm with everyone, although I have been snippy recently. Being frustrated is not fun at all. But at least it's all over and done with.

I'm kinda nervous about driving to King of Prussia on Saturday. I'm not quite sure why I am though. I've just been in a state anxiety for a while now. It's weird because I really don't have anything to be at all worried about, outside of my car. I think I'm just weird. I've just been off for months.

I think I might not be able to make it up to Dickinson on May 6th, which bums me out. Maybe that is why I'm nervous. Doesn't seem like a good enough reason though. I'm still debating whether or not to go up to Dickinson on the 13th. Don't know if I want to be up there all be my lonesome and such (not to mention the price of gas :oP).

I have been trying to get into a regular routine with pilates. It isn't quite working though. I'm able to do it friday - monday, but not any of the other days. I try to at least focus on breathing and body carriage during the in-between days. So I see a little difference in the way I walk and how I sit at my desk. I might try keeping the calories low along with it. Might help matters if I don't eat like a pig all day long. I suppose you could say my overall goal is to get back into my running build without killing my knee even more. I think it's time to start getting up nice and early in the morning to do the exercise. *You all know I keep saying that, but I don't do it. Someone needs to get my sorry ass on that*

I had a really great song lyric, but I can't remember the song or the artist. So maybe it wasn't that great to begin with.

Outie!

sunny bunny

It's amazing what a week and a half of nice weather will do. All of a sudden my mood has become so much better. I feel more agreeable all because of the sun. Granted I'm still have a sad outlook on some things, but doesn't seem nearly as insurmountable as they used to be.

I had a pleasant call about a week or so ago with Ben about going through the whole grad school application process. It is really comforting to at least be able chat with him about how unbelievably annoying the whole thing is, from filling out the forms to taking the stupid tests. As a matter of fact, I'll probably be taking the Math GRE again cause I did so badly (okay not badly but not up to par with my usual perfectionism). I happen to be really nervous about things. I'm quite certain that by the time November rolls around I'll be on the verge of another bout with shingles (aka, herpes zoster) because of it. If I can't manage to get full funding, I really need to rethink what it is I want to do. I won't be able to pay tuition and live in a new place if I don't receive some sort of stipend. Bah, I'm going to try not to think about that until I actually figure out where I will apply to.

I'm sad cause I missed Soco last night. :oP for not having an RU id. :::sigh:::

I guess the other big thing is that I'm super close to buying my very own car. I happen to be really excited about it. I have been looking at this car for ages and finally just got myself worked up enough to go ahead and say, "Hey, I'd like to buy that car."

Oh and what is really nice....only 3 more weeks of the semester left here at BCC. That means summer....that means week to week my schedule changes. But it also means I get out of work at 1:30 on Fridays. Wahoo.

back to work

I just got to spend a much needed weekend up at Dickinson. I got to see the professors and pick up my thesis. It looks so purty all bound and hard cover like. It even has my name on the cover. I also got to visit the Infernos. They sound freakin' amazing. I mean...I thought our group was good....but wowie...they mesh so well together.

Anyways the weekend was just what the doctor ordered. Trips to market cross, salamandra's, and the inescapable cafe. It was nice to just chill out with the guys and watch movies and drink and such. I don't quite think I'll be able to go back to campus once they graduate. It just won't be the same.

So all in all, trip was good. And I'm back to working. All I have to report.

Rainy day....

I realize this is just coming from left-field but here goes nothing. This entirely rainy day has reminded me so much of being at Dickinson. I walked out into the rain to find a small little earthworm. I got whisked back instantly to the major rainfall in Carlisle. Walking in flip-flops, refusing to wear sneakers and socks cause I would just have to spend the next like hour drying them. Trapsing around Morgan field, hopping from open area to open area so as not to crush the massive earthworms who have decided to make the trek across the blacktop. It always made me happy to see them, although there were a couple of occasions where I admit...I did say "eeewww". They were always a sign the spring, the grass, the warmth, and the sun will be coming.

anyways...24 is on. catch ya later.

For Suzy....

The reason for the distraction yesterday was that one of the student tutors came in (And no, this is not the same student i talked about a long time ago...not the rocker/angry music boy). Yes, a good little eye-distraction. He sat at the desk right across the room from me, so I really couldn't help it. He is right in my line of vision when I look up. I feel kinda bad about it...but the boy is cute. Clean, boy next-store look is the best way to describe it. Very kind, a nice sense of humor. Bad side....he's a student tutor. :oP

It's like one of those stupid under the Coke/Pepsi/insert fave drink cap games.
Drink Coke, Play Again.

GRRR!
