All of my applications are away. Done. No more worrying about them. Saturday is the big exam. Not really stressed, but ask me again on friday. Then we'll see. All of a sudden things have become nice and light and easy. I don't really care as much about things that bothered me before, although I have to admit there are some things that will always bother me. Studying and getting help during the week this week. Giving an exam to my class. Saturday afternoon I am free and easy to go have some serious fun. tee hee. oh imagine all the fun I can have on Saturday :::wink wink:::.

brain dead

Wow, my head hurts. Have I ever said I how much I hate forms. Well I do. I have spent the past 2.5 hours filling out forms....not for me...but for my recommenders. I made them nice envelopes, with little instructions....and all they have to do is write in how wonderful I am.

So I pretty much have that aspect and the transcript stuff done. Fancy that though, I haven't actually sent in my applications yet. I might get to that tomorrow. Damn work and class getting in the way of things.

Life has been...interesting. New friends have made life exciting, especially at work. My coworkers firmly believe that I have two boyfriends, just from the pure amount of time two fellow colleagues spend at my desk talking to me. Not that I mind, although it does discourage the students somewhat.

I can't believe it's halfway through the semester. Didn't it just start like a week ago?

maybe chicken little this weekend, getting some study help from nathan??....test next weekend, then after that

PERFECT FIFTH. The most solid of all of the
intervals -- you serve as a foundation upon
which everyone else builds themselves. You
believe in simple truths, and think most of
that "emanipation of the dissonance"
talk should be taken with a pillar of salt.
Beloved by Medieval and early 20th century
composers, you should avoid walking in the same
cardinal direction as any of your like-minded
friends. We wouldn't want any parallel fifths,
you know...

Neglect

I DID IT!!!

Mark this day. It is the day I finished writing my personal statement for graduate school. I am very proud of myself, that is that I finished it. Is it a piece of crapola....yes I think so. But who cares about that...it is done.

I am sorry that I have been neglectful of my updating here. The conference was a trip. I learned a couple of little things, but I am superbly impressed with our operation. Anyways, last week I spent writing a huge mofo of a report on it. I guess the writing of the report massaged me into writing my personal statement. Last friday I hung out with some new friends...in a very very cold apartment watching the big lebowski. then saturday, in a feat of female wonderment, beckie and i constructed her impressive tv stand. Then we made cookies and watched crazy halloweenish sort of movies. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra....I sleep now!!!! muuuuuaaahhahahaha!!!

I am debating whether or not to go up to dickinson two weekends from now...i miss everyone terribly but i can't just give up a perfectly good weekend of studying...especially since i haven't studied...at all!!! Talk about me turning into a procrastinator. W-T-F, duuude....W-T-F???

Anyways work time is almost over...I'm getting out of here...to only get wet as i go to my car.

October?!?!?!

It can't be October?!?!?! I guess it is then. Time keeps slipping by. Ugh.

Next week is Ohio-conference time. I can't wait to go, but then again I feel weird going. I know that athena and i will have a good go of it. Should be interesting to see how all these other math labs are set up, see if we really are a rarity in the way we run the lab.

I can't bring myself to write my personal statement. I have recently had it stuck in my head to screw grad school, i lack all self-confidence in getting in. Every time I think about writing my personal statement my head goes-> wouldn't it just be more logical to take the praxis, spend less money and be in a higher paying job in under a year? It hit me hard, two days ago when the gre moved up the registration date for the subject tests. I nearly broke down over whether or not to sign up again to take a test that i know will rape my confidence for the next 2 or 3 months. In the end I pulled out my credit card and registered for the test. I think I am a masochist. No one in their right mind would take that test more than once. I guess that means I'll have to write this personal statement very soon. Maybe this weekend?? I doubt it. I'm the biggest procrastinator ever.

Anyways that is my life. Me trying to avoid the big stuff. Nothing else really going on. catch you all later.

Since

Suz said her's was so accurate, i decided to do mine. Put 2 in the win column for the ColorQuiz, cause at the moment this is sooo how I feel. Only 2 weeks til conference, class is going well, I got super stressed over piddly this past week or so, i still haven't written my personal statement or emailed my profs. Smafu is coming in like a week and a half, yeey!

ALIVE!

I just figured I would write a little something. Yes, my students did not eat me alive. I haven't taught a class in about a year or so...it's kinda like riding a bike. I have to remember how to remember all the info I'm going to teach in one class period, without looking at my notes every five seconds. But it is getting easier. Only 28 more classes to go!!!

Ummm my brain won't let me sit still...so I can't figure out what else to write, so I'm going to go. ttyl.

Bum-ba-dum-dum DUM!!!!

Friday and Saturday were wonderful. Getting to have Suzy and Cryssy come stay over was amazing. Okay I admit it, I didn't do very well in the whole planning activities department but we made up for it. Friday night we went to the Fox and the Hound. That was fun...and weird. Fancy our waiter being Danny *now it's just Dan* who I went to elementary school with. It definitely took me a little while to realize is was him. When I finally did get up the courage to ask him-"What school did..." (that was all I got out before he said)- "Did we go to the same grammer school together? Yes." Then that just made things feel awkward. But we made it through. We went to Blockbuster to pick up a couple of movies- Circle of Friends and Center Stage. Funny- Cryssy and I saw Circle of Friends a long time ago...and when we watched we both realized that we definitely didn't understand what the heck was really going on. My parents surprised me with a little ice cream cake. Yum! And guess who called me. This guy who I was tutoring way back in June. I was just so surprised. We caught up a little bit *I didn't want to stay on the phone too long, since I had guests* but I might call him tomorrow to get more details and tell him about my foray into teaching *yikes*. What was really funny I guess (or maybe it's cause my social life is so lacking), is the my parents think he really does like me in the more than we are friends, you helped me out a while back sort of way. I just don't think that is the deal. My father even said it sounds like he is lonely. (yes it's even scarier when your parents talk to you about stuff like that.) But he just can't be lonely and that is the way it is in my head for the moment. Saturday we hung out, listened to my father's sch-piel about the Hurricane and then decided to go to Roosevelt and walk around the park there. We then got supremely hungry and stopped at Applebee's. By the time we got home, it was primarily time for them to leave. I get sad when people leave. ::sigh::

Tomorrow is the big day. I'm nervous, anxious, I probably won't get any sleep no matter how early I try to go to bed. At least I am done with work at 4 in the afternoon, so I'll be home by 5....that means if I'm feeling adventurous I could go out for a walk, or some exercise or something. Mom will hopefully be going in for the second dose this week. Selenium Tuesday, Chemo Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed. Yesterday and today the "shedding" as I will call it began. But I managed to get her out to Lids to buy a nondescript black fitted baseball cap, along with a brown Nike cap. Hurray for buy 1 get the second half off deal.

I think I need to find some food.
