Gobble Gobble

I just figured I would wish everyone a Happy Turkey Day while I'm here working on one of the most traveled days of the year. Enjoy the food fun and family.

:oP

Boo. This week = boo.

Read Suzer's LJ for the concert. It was fun, got a t-shirt for my little bro who is home. We had loads of fun talking after the concert, over some much needed ice cream. Come to think of it I haven't had ice cream since this summer, before I got this...job.

Anyways, life is well, still non-existant. Suzer- me coming up on the 18th and staying over to the 19th (if that is alright with everyone) would be super wonderful. Becks- Do you want to hang out Tuesday or wednesday (although wednesday I need to watch Jack and Bobby my new fav show.), considering I haven't seen you in I don't know, like a month, and you live not 15 minutes away?

I wish i had something good to say, like I've started exercising or i've lost weight or....something. Although somebody would say that me losing weight is a bad thing, but I feel like fat tub of lard just sitting around all day. But I suppose that is an entry for another day.

Pathetic, just pathetic.

SOOOOOOO COOOOOOOO

I just wanted to say I had a super duper amount of fun at the Soco concert with Suzer. I'll write more tomorrow...well today but when I happen to be more coherent. So much happened today. I'm sure you want to hear all about it. You'll just have to wait a little while.

Suspense, I know it kills you.

Goodnight!

sometimes all I do is watch the sky....

Thanks muchly to Hester and Becks. I spoke with one of my coworkers today, who informed me that we had a counseling service here at work. Also found out that one of the other gals had talked to him about it already and he had gone to seen them. (Yes, he does have some type of disability, but I didn't find out what it was exactly.) She also said that she had a similar encounter of...hmm....outrage and she had contacted our supervisor. Told me that next time something like this occurs, we should call him in to just observe and speak with the gentleman (my supervisor has some psych training). But I thank you again cause he came to speak with me, only in passing, and I think i did alright. Had lots of topics to speak of at the ready, but i didn't need them.

I'm super excited for the concert tomorrow, but I have this feeling that I might not make it in time. But I have too, I must. I'm going through Soco withdrawal. Suzer, I'm going to fashion the Music + Science = Sexy shirt. Maybe that will raise a few brows.

For your enjoyment and my own, here's a lovely list of some fav quotes from the Harry Potter books:

Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain. ~~Arthur Weasley "Chamber of Secrets"

If you want to know what a man is like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals. ~~Sirius Black "Goblet of Fire"

Accio Brain! ~~Ron Weasley "Order of the Pheonix"

Fear of a name increases fear of the thing itself. ~~Albus Dumbledore "Sorcerer's Stone"

It is our choices Harry, that show who we really are, far more than our abilities. ~~Albus

Humans have a knack for choosing precisely the things that are worst for them. ~~Albus

Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest treasure. ~~Luna Lovegood

Next week the Prisoner of Azkaban is out on DVD, and it will be in my mailbox the day it comes out. Hurray for me. I wanted to note that I'm a bum and my life will not be in any way interesting until i go back to school in 2006 (that is unless i get the shingles again.) OH and no boys for me, I'm going to continue making up elaborate stories I can play out in my head, who needs boys anyways.
bye bye

staying up late even when i shouldn't be

Yeah. That is what I'm doing right now. I should really be in bed, sleeping so I can tackle tomorrow's problems. But I must share this, because at the moment, I don't believe I'm equipped or even able to handle this situation. So anyone out there who can give any sort of advice, please do.

There is a young gentlemen at work, who for all intents and purposes is...extremely socially awkward. I would even go as far as say socially inept. I don't know if it is some condition or overall problem, but it isn't the usual shyness. But this guy last semester used to "talk" with one of my coworkers about how his life is going. (She used to work at my desk, she has since moved to a different desk.) Anyways, I had heard before about him, and the occasional ummm, crying that had occurred. Recently, this gentleman has started talking to me. The conversations are very...hmmm....disjointed. It takes him a while to either formulate ideas or find the right words to convey his thoughts. I find it hard to keep up even a normal conversation (we all know I'm not that great with conversating, if it's math I'm good, but keeping up normal conversation is difficult for me.) I'm used to being a listener, never really the initiator to help people tell me what they need to say. But today, I experienced the first crying session. I felt horrible and so much like a fish out of water. I didn't know what to do with myself or what to do for him. All I could do was hand over my new box of anti-viral tissues (which he made a large dent in, by the way). But one thing in the whole ordeal really struck me: he said," My parents say I shouldn't cry." In my infinite wisdom, I ask, "Why?" He turns and in this nasty, mean voice, "I don't know why they do that." To which I stopped my line if questions. He several times mentioned how much he disliked his life. *Much of this had to do with some dealings with a girl he was meeting with...* But I felt so odd. I was overload, I don't think I handled it well at all. A half hour he returned to my desk to say that he was happy with things and such.

I guess I'm just worried that I'm doing some sort of damage, that my total lack of being in position to feel like I'm doing something positive will cause the situation to become worse. Not to mention the numerous odd looks I got from the students tutors while the waterworks was going on. I just felt so not in control of what was going on. I just tried my best to get him to calm down. :::sigh::: I guess this will go on for the rest of the semester.

Alright, I can at least be prepared and mildly comforting and not like a deer stuck in the headlights of an oncoming Mack truck like I was today.

Anyways, happy thought-> Something Corporate on Friday!! :::claps as much as she can::: Little bro coming home on Saturday, as well as a much needed haircut (not that that will help my lifeless life anyways)

:oP

Well. I got my Something Corporate ticket in the mail a couple of days ago. It makes me excited. I try to keep telling myself that I will not be sick next friday. I will not be in pain. What fun is a show if you are already in pain. Although I'm sure I could clear enough space by screaming the words, "I have herpes zoster!!" I wouldn't have to worry about huge frat boys bouncing into me. (Herpes zoster is the scientific name for shingles, but herpes zoster is more frighteningly scary.)

*Random insert: My brother got a 97 on his chem test!!! Hurray.

I've been speaking to Giesey every couple of days now. I need to make a trip to Dickinson to visit them all. I miss those guys. Hopefully I can get something worked out. You wouldn't believe how quickly weekends get filled up. I'm crazy booked. It's disgusting. I really don't do anything during the week cause my schedule is all wierd and such so that leaves me my weekends.
Here's how the weekends are breaking down:
weekend 1: I'm on get sick better patrol
2: Soco concert and my brother is coming up from VT
3: driving my bro back to VT
4: free (probably studying)
5: Math Subject GRE
6: free
7: Christmas and off to Disney World
Scary how you can condense the next month and a half into a simple list. Hopefully I can make visits soon. I don't know how this happens. I don't end up planning most of it, that is mostly the problem.

Can't wait til I get home, have some pain meds and watch the oc, that should be interesting.
Zoster (shingles) is a major pain in the butt. Even though I'm not contagious, it hurts like heck. It feels like I've been run through with a sword or something because just the slightest movement causes pain. So I am trying to do as little as possible, while maintaining a work schedule.

But this makes me happy:
Chapter 2 Spinners End
Chapter 6 Draco's Detour
Chapter 14 Felix Felicis

Chapter titles for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. At the very least, she's got half of the book done. Maybe a year to go on this one?? I'm optomistic.

Nothing else to report.

feeling a little better

this is always mildly amusing.

I've got nothing else to report. Being sick just does not lend oneself to having an exciting life. But I did watch the oc last night. Things are so different when one doesn't watch it with the townhouse. The episode wasn't that great, really slow, but I guess for the first show you have to get the ball rolling. I'll give them 2 more episodes, if it doesn't get any juicier by then I might just be depressed for the next year. Here's to hoping the next episode has some funny Seth one-liners. Bye bye.

oh my

Just figured I would let you all know...I have contagious shingles. So I won't be seeing anyone any time soon. Have a nice life.

I'm glad this election didn't get pushed into a legal battle. I respect Kerry for conceding. Back to resting.

Well. Here goes everything.

Sunday was GRE day as well as Halloween. I managed to finish the test in under 3 hours. You all know how much I despise taking tests that last longer than an hour. But it went really well. I got a 760 on the math portion, hurray, that means I only got like 3 questions wrong. I got a 560 on the verbal. Not to shabby for a girl who doesn't like playing around with words. I don't think my essays were great, but enough to get me a decent 3-4 score. Following that excitement, I took a trip a trip to see Dana. She was all decked out as Belle. We got to serve candy to the trick-or-treat-ers. Then we went out for dinner with her mom and dad. Thanks to Mom and Dad LaRosa for the yummy yummy dinner.

Now I suppose for the graphic part: You all know that I've had this crazy weird sickness for the past couple of weeks. I thought I had gotten over it. Apparently not. I have this rash, which is painfully itchy. So I called the doctor today (I have an appointment tomorrow morning) but I talked to the nurse on the phone...and she said it might be shingles. Ugh why me. I don't want to have the shingles. That just messes everything up. rar. Just when I was starting to feel better and wanting to go out and hang out with people. Damn it.

Other than that, I did my duty today. Went to my polling station, it was unusually full for 8:15 in the morning. That is considering hardly no one in my district ever votes for anything. Go vote, it's fun to play with the voting machine...ours had this nice little ring when you casted your vote. It felt so fulfilling. I hope in the next day or so we'll know who the president will be for the next 4 years. Although in my personal opinion, it isn't going to matter who is president, cause with poll indicators so divided, hardly anything will get done legislation wise anyways. But that is just my take.

Here's to hoping I don't have shingles.
