Well. Here goes everything.
Sunday was GRE day as well as Halloween. I managed to finish the test in under 3 hours. You all know how much I despise taking tests that last longer than an hour. But it went really well. I got a 760 on the math portion, hurray, that means I only got like 3 questions wrong. I got a 560 on the verbal. Not to shabby for a girl who doesn't like playing around with words. I don't think my essays were great, but enough to get me a decent 3-4 score. Following that excitement, I took a trip a trip to see Dana. She was all decked out as Belle. We got to serve candy to the trick-or-treat-ers. Then we went out for dinner with her mom and dad. Thanks to Mom and Dad LaRosa for the yummy yummy dinner.
Now I suppose for the graphic part: You all know that I've had this crazy weird sickness for the past couple of weeks. I thought I had gotten over it. Apparently not. I have this rash, which is painfully itchy. So I called the doctor today (I have an appointment tomorrow morning) but I talked to the nurse on the phone...and she said it might be shingles. Ugh why me. I don't want to have the shingles. That just messes everything up. rar. Just when I was starting to feel better and wanting to go out and hang out with people. Damn it.
Other than that, I did my duty today. Went to my polling station, it was unusually full for 8:15 in the morning. That is considering hardly no one in my district ever votes for anything. Go vote, it's fun to play with the voting machine...ours had this nice little ring when you casted your vote. It felt so fulfilling. I hope in the next day or so we'll know who the president will be for the next 4 years. Although in my personal opinion, it isn't going to matter who is president, cause with poll indicators so divided, hardly anything will get done legislation wise anyways. But that is just my take.
Here's to hoping I don't have shingles.
rar, little headache
You are Blue.
Overall you're a pretty content person. At peace
with yourself, you don't tend to over react.
Although at times you can be quite harsh and
cold towards others.
What Color Best Represents Your Personality?
brought to you by Quizilla
yeeey, happy blue. Thanks everyone for your advice on the gre's. I'm not stressing out so much anymore. I'll just continue playing my vocab quizzes and such.
Long day today at work. oh well. at least I will have an episode of Jack and Bobby waiting for me when I get home. Not to mention beck was kind enough to ask about going out on Saturday night, even though I can't because of the gre's. I might go out for wings night with steve tomorrow, who knows.
Tomorrow is a small halloween party at work. I need to think of a little costume. That is if I have anything in my house I could use to dress up in. Other than that, I've got nothing.
Sorry to disappoint
oi vey
I would just like everyone to know, the gre's are going to leave me in ruins on Sunday. The math sections I have no problem with. I've been taking some cat math sections, and I've been doing really well. Only 4 wrong on any one section. But the verbal and writing section... :oP. I can do fairly well on the Sentence completion portion...but jesus reading comp is a pain in my butt. I have yet to attempt even writing a little bit on the analytic writing section. I just want to get a 3 or a 4 on that part. I won't be writing persuasive essays in grad school. poo on ETS. If anyone who has taken the test recently can allay my fears of getting only 100 points on the verbal section, please dear god help me.
Weirdness- Some crazy dude from DMG Securities called me at work about a job offer. Who in the heck does that sort of thing?!?!?!? Not to mention the pure and simple fact that I no nothing about stocks or bonds or anything like that. But apparently they will pay for training and for the exam you need to take. We all know that this will get in the way of my real plan...getting that ph.d, even if the company is in Virginia. Really, who would give up my job, where I have intermittent hours to get mine own agenda taken care of, and don't forget the all day internet action.
Sigh, but I guess by Sunday I'll know how viable my plan is. Oh well. I won't have a life until after the exam...someone have candy ready for me by say 5 o'clock cause I'll need it.

Weekend to myself
First, a musical interlude. Ingram Hill's Will I Ever Make It Home, a little country twang for you:
I woke up from my sleep to the sound of that voice
From the words that I heard I had no choice
They told me that I had to turn around
My assurance slowly faded down
and I wondered
Will I ever make it home, will I ever leave the ground
Leave this place so far behind ,till there is no turning back,
Will i ever make it home, get to where
I wanna be, find the ones who wait for me ..to the place were i belong..
Will I ever make it home
The plans that I had were quickly destroyed
The problem was one I couldn’t avoid
They welcomed me to stay overnight
I’m too tired to complain so I just might
Will I ever make it home, to the place I recognize
Far from here and where I’ve been, and all the things that I’ve been shown
Will I ever make it home, can they keep me here for good
Where I hardly know a soul, and my fear keeps going on
Will I ever make it home
My weariness keeps growing inside
My patience is starting to subside
And I hope I’ll be there soon
It can’t be long, or I’ll fall through
I woke up from my sleep to the sound of that voice
From the words that I heard I had no choice
They told me that I had to turn around
My assurance slowly faded down
Will I ever make it home, will I ever leave the ground
Leave this place so far behind, till there is no turning back
Will I ever make it home, get to where I wanna be
Find the ones who wait for me, to the place where I belong
I'm spending my time trying to nurse my cold. I will continue to be antisocial all weekend. Oh, I thought I would share, my favorite male gymnast...Paul Hamm got to keep his gold medal. yeeey, cutie with a gold medal.
I talked to Giesey today over im. I miss the townhouse boys. They were going to Market Cross tonight. There will be a drink in my honor. sigh. I miss school. Anyways, it is now uber late...i think it is bed time.

It's a Carlisle sort of day.
Wow, I guess it has been a week. Nothing of note has happened. Well, stuff has happened, but not the kind you write home about.
I bought my ticket to see Soco at Moravian. I also was super productive today and got directions. I am hoping that Friday I can make it home in a reasonable fashion (sub hour), scarf down some mcdonald's and then spend an hour and half on the road. Since the show doesn't start until 8, I'm giving myself the extra hour leeway to get there. I have the sinking feeling that this plan is going to go to hell in a handbag while I'm driving along 78. Pray there aren't any accidents, construction, or traffic.
I think I've decided against buying my new computer...yet again. I might just wait until next year when the new operating system comes out. Why if I have a 64-bit processor do I want to run 32-bit programs on it? bah. Yet again I manage to put off doing things that i would like to do. I'm such a master at that.
My parents are going to visit my brother again this weekend. This means I get to cook for myself again. Hurray. I've decided to make macaroni and cheese (no not easy mac, actually getting some cool macaroni's and melting cheese and such), and some chili.
I still have no boyfriend, still working, and still pretending to be studying for the gre's which are going down in under a week and a half. I need to be serious about it, but i don't think it is going to happen.
Anyways, off to the rest of my boring life.

he he he WIPE OUT!
Yeah, I feel wiped out. My mind is about 2 or three steps out of sync. You know that fuzzy brain sort of feeling. I feel a little better since the rain has come through but I am still really tired. Only have about 7 more hours at work.
Not much going on....shout out to Hester-> I hope you feel better hun. Colds stink, but they are a wonderful reason to stay in and cuddle up with some tea.
Suzer-> I'm going to buy the tickets on Friday once I get back from work. Then I'll work out how I'm getting there. Really, I have 3 hours to get my slow self to Moravian. Then I might just go home after the concert, I don't know, because either way I'd have to drive an hour plus by myself in the car later in the evening. Plus I need to get my brother a Soco shirt, since he can't make it. Once I get the tickets, I can figure out the logistics of the driving.
In the span of writing this...an hour and a half has passed. dude, I guess I should grade. Maybe if I'm not dead tired by later tonight i'd write more, except I don't think I have anything new to say.

new music
I'm sharing this song with everyone, cause Green Day just...rocks.
"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"
I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...
My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone
I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line of the edge
And where I walk alone
Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everythings all right
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
And I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a...
My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a..
My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk away!
I think i'm getting sick. My body aches, I can not keep my eyes open and I'm just not functioning normally. Maybe I'll go home and watch a DVD- maybe Harry Potter or something Disney, cause goodness this stinks.
Catch ya later kids.

Rest in Peace Christopher Reeves. You really were a Superman. I hope to god that the movie industry never remakes the Superman story, because you are the quintessential Superman.
Darn it, I am at work.
Yes, everyone else can have off, but not me. Christopher Columbus, why can't you be more important???
:::sigh:::
I guess you could say I have a lot going on this week. Work, which is always...exciting. I don't have so many labs, because several of them are taking exams this week. Wahoo.
I need to get in contact with our neighbor so that I know how much dessert type food will be needed Saturday. Saturday is the big RU homecoming game. We will be there, the super tailgaters we are. It is an early game (12) so who knows what we will be doing on the grills. And when I say grills, I mean the two of them we have set up for burgers, hotdogs, steaks, heating up of macaroni and such. I am thinking about making some peanut butter bars, cookies and cupcakes. So I figure that is what I will be doing Friday night.
I spent yesterday making up little flashcards for the gre. Some short definitions of words, that in about 3 weeks I will work my hardest to forget. They are words like, veracity, torpor, dilatory...ouch my head is spinning with all these words. But I refuse to make up flash cards for any more words.
I am going to try this week, to write up a piece for Rusty. I have a vague idea of what I want to write. It is a topic that has been bubbling in my head for weeks. I wish I could construct a poem of some sort, but poems have never been my strong suit. I could never find the right words or meter, both just didn't interact well for me. So,it might turn out to be a short story. If I have an courage, I might just post it up here.
I don't know if I am going out Saturday evening. I haven't said anything to my parents. For some reason it doesn't quite appeal to me. Yes, it is nice to spend time with friends. I just don't think I will be comfortable. Not a fan drinking in an area where I don't quite know my surroundings. I suppose I will just let this simmer in my head for a few more days. Ugh for feeling out of place, and really not being able to pinpoint the reason.
My brother apparently wants to go to the Soco concert on the 19th. But I have no idea how he could get here in time for it. He has to work things out by Friday. Cause I want to get the tickets by then. So suzer will probably get a frantic im or call thursday night about what I'm doing.
There's a bunch on my mind...but i can't think of it all right now. Besides, work is a pain.
Catch ya later

Don't you remember when those shows were the ___? I mean come on. Boy Meets World, Full House, now that was quality television.
Anyways, as you could have guessed, today is FFFFRRRRIIIDDDAAAYYY! It is a happy thought. The lab is very quiet. Not to much going on. Lab related note: Brad did not come to my review. Other random note: Jason...punk boy...whenever i look up from my work...i always scan the room, and whenever i do that, for some reason his boxers are plainly laid out for all to see. So yeah.
Tonight-> Prez debate watching is occuring with Beck. Then we are probably going to head out to a bar or two afterwards. Sleepover after barring it up.
Then I have the house to myself for the rest of the weekend. Cookin', cleanin' and maybe a little shopping, who knows. I will most likely study for the gre's as well. Maybe do a little writing for Rusty.
I finally got my Music + Science = Sexy shirt in the mail yesterday. It is absolutely the cutest most dorkiet thing ever. I love it. I'll have to wear it sometime soon.
Apparently, Soco is playing at Moravian on November 19. I really want to go. But that is the weekend I think I have to go pick up my brother from Virginia Tech at the start of his Thanksgiving Break. So things are a little up in the air. I want to see both of them soo badly. Soco, I haven't seen for months. I'm going through serious withdrawal.
Farewell, I'll probably write some over the weekend.
