My entire family has been laughing at me. Cause of the incident with the bird...but I've made things worse. Apparently, some animal attacked either a groundhog or mole nest. Mother is gone, and the babies have all scattered. Found one in the driveway near my rear wheels. Poor thing I think was injured by whatever raided the nest. It kept trying to curl up in a little ball. It is about the size of a quarter. I was what one would call distraught. I don't know what has incited this need to save the tiny animals. I moved the little guy to the side of the house under some foliage. I really hope with all the rain today the poor thing does not get drowned. Two deaths would bother me terribly. I'm actually waiting on the third. Weird stuff like this always comes in threes for me.

The bachelorette party was so much fun. I've missed hanging with the cousins. Less then a week until the wedding. Have the purty dress all hung out to try to get the wrinkles out of it. I need to get used to the high heels. *High heels* I will still be shorter than everyone else, but god at least I can say I tried. Not to happy about the seating arrangements<-always stuck with old people at the table. :o( In any event, it will be quite a production.

In other news, some decisions have been made. Like 2 trips to Columbia- beginning of June and beginning of July. One trip to Disney World in July. A trip to Texas in the middle of June. I figure in the next couple of years I won't have the funds to make such fun trips, might as well get them in now.

The anticipation is building. Catch ya later.

Stuff..

You Are 87% New Jersey!

Wow, you're totally Jersey. There's no doubt about it. Congratulations, and always be proud to be Jersey--it's a great thing to be!

How New Jersey Are You?

Yeah. Today I came back from a trip to Home Depot and Kohl's. Picked up some stuff for my tomatos, and went...oh lala to get some makeup for the upcoming cousin's wedding next week. But when I pulled into the driveway and opened my car door, i saw a tiny baby bluebird lieing on the driveway. it made me soo sad. The poor thing was just losing the baby fluff. You could start to see the growth of some beautiful new blue feathers. I couldn't figure out how it could have made it to the driveway. Poor poor thing.

I managed the extra grad schools situation. Still going to South Carolina. Going to make a couple of trips out there in the next two months.

Bachelorette party tomorrow. That is about all the excitement I have for you.

You people are lucky effin' ducks

I need to get this energy out. This is absolutely wrong. This should not be happening. I think I've dropped the f-bomb and any of it's derivatives continuously for the past hour and a half. Think opening sequence of Office Space...yeah me in the car...that's how I've been.

Today I received an email from NC State. Yeah NC effin' State. My admission decision was ready. Oh it's May 4th...it must just be my rejection letter. What do I find-> ACCEPTED. No money, no assistantship. Accepted on May freakin' 4th. What the hell is the matter with you people?!?!!?

Wait. It gets better. OOOOOO so much better. After work I get an email from a professor at...of all places...Virginia Tech. Yes, V effin' T. Oh, we were wondering...although you may have made other plans...are you still interested in Virginia Tech for graduate school??? WTF!!!!!!! Excuse me, you wait until May freakin' 4th to ask me if I was interested in your school. I freakin' drove 7 hours to come to your Visitor's Day. No, I wasn't interested at all. :oP

God damn it all to hell. I thought I was only supposed to be confused during the time period of say...March 15 to April 15. Not f____in' May 4th. I guess I'm the best of the bottom of the barrel.

Jesus H. Tap-dancing Christ-> it's all your fault.

Kona's birthday

First, let me start off by saying I love watching House. How could you not??!? Especially when stuff like this gets said->

Cuddy: With the police officer’s death, we are at Biohazard level 3.
House: Oh call Jack Bauer!

Anyway, on to the somewhat real update. *Forgive me Giesey, if you check this out, if you don’t want anyone else to know…but I can’t not talk about it.* I suppose the major happening is the fact that I’m totally oblivious to everything around me. Maybe not oblivious…that is probably the wrong word, more like me being unmindful of what has been going on. Even Suzy has been trying to convince me of it for while, a long while to be exact. Maybe I knew…and just wasn’t recognizing it, although I have no idea why I would do that.

WTF is she talking about?? The big deal is the mutual enjoyment of our company, Giesey and myself. Brilliant. It has all come out due to my own ignorant needling. So therein lies the difficult things. I shouldn’t call it difficult. Frustrating is the best word. The timing just…makes everything absolutely nuts. We both have our hands tied. Army, graduate school. Texas, New Jersey/ South Carolina. Even my wonderful brain is having trouble wrapping around this little brick wall. Suppose I need to try harder, or we just need to leave things in their current state, which isn’t a bad thing…don’t get me wrong.

Yeah, I’m not quite sure what else to write. Just that is my news. Guess I’ll check in later.

Happy May?!?

Wow...holy....macaroni.

Yeah...did the entire month of April just pass me right by?? Apparently it has.

I'm here trying to while away the last half hour of work for the evening. I really need to bring more enticing books to read. But that is besides the point. I guess I have some updates...although I think I want to properly write them out, or else it will just come out weird. How about I just keep you all on the edge of your seats...yes that sounds like a wonderful idea.

I have managed to make it an entire 6 days by myself in my house. Only another 7 to go. I have not yet hit the wall wondering about food, so I am quite proud of myself. Yesterday, I made a tray of baked ziti. Great...that will last me forever if I really want it too. Although I won't lie (italian and all)...I can really only do ziti like 2 times a week...not more than 3. I have other wonderful meal ideas in store as well- turkey...steak...chicken...maybe a meal out!??! So many possibilities.

My puppy has been quite depressed through all of this. I guess he really is that attached to my parents. Sometimes he wanders around the house...like..."Where the hell are they?" "They really didn't leave me with this crazy person, did they?!?!?!" "What do you mean 4 in the morning isn't the best time to wake up?"

Wednesday is my last class ever at BCC. Giving the final exam, which is great. Means I have nothing to think aobut or prepare. Hurray!!!

By the way...does anyone have a riveting reads for me? I am in such a bad spot...I'm actually reading a book on...personal finance...and one of the many physics texts i had to buy but in typical college fashion never used. If not I suppose I could always go do my obligatory read through of the Harry Potter books again, see if I can tie everything together. (Spring/Summer 2007- Order of the Pheonix movie...and Book 7 slated to be out!!!) And please something that is long that will keep me occupied for a while.

I swear sometime this week...I will actually update update, not that some of you don't already know what I could quite possibly write about.

Teacher

Yeah, I got my scores back from the praxis exam. For those of you who don't know...it's the standardized exam that one needs to pass in order to send you on your way to teacher certification. I passed with super flying colors. To pass in NJ you need to get a 137 out of 200. Ms. Resa got a 175. Take that. Puts me in the top 15% of all previous test takers. ETS was even nice enough to send me a certificate of my achievement. Damn....now if only I had gotten such a good score on my math subject test. Oh well. At least I have something to fall back on if grad school stinks to high heaven.

umm anyways...so yeah.

Stuff coming up. i only have 3 more lectures left for the semester...and 1 exam. Next couple of weekends I'll be on my own here. maybe I'll go out and get lots of beer and then have a contest to see how much of it I can drink, by myself.

Anyways...avoiding work, like it is the plague. Catch ya later.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming

Big big news all. I figure I can be a dispersal mechanism seeing as most of the family knows and such.

Mom finished up her six months of chemotherapy. So the doctors all got together and ran the diagnostic tests to see where things stand. From what it looks like, the cancer isn't running amuck. Actually they saw little to no tissue activity. So it looks she is in the clear for now. There is the usual periodic tests and exams and such. But things look great.

We celebrated with rum and coke that evening of the meeting.

Now maybe my life will go back to some normalcy. Maybe.

Suzer is coming to visit this weekend. Might hit up the NB bar scene. That will be interesting. So excited.

I wish this day was over...so I could spend the evening outside.

Goooo 'Cocks!

Yeah. So Thursday night, I finally sat down and made my decision. This whole situation had seriously messed me up the past couple of weeks. Threw my whole body out of whack. Lack of an appetite, not really wanting to do anything, serious stomach issues. Now that it is all done I feel so relieved.

So the big story was that ODU was so...disgusted about my not giving them a decision, that they gave me until Friday to tell them yes or no, or else they were going to retract their offer. Since I don't let anyone get the better hand...I told them no...and that next time if they want a quick decision they should tell people in the acceptance letter when they would like a reply. Dick-weeds.

A good moral in life: Always make friends with the secretary. Because when shit hits the fan...they usually know who to call. So I spoke to the grad secretary at VT- so helpful...she said I'm really sorry, but I haven't seen anything come across my desk for you. So you know what...you do what you want to do.

Final Answer: University of South Carolina to the rescue. I realized this week that they actually wanted an answer by the 31st. I was like schnikeys!! But I sent along an email to the grad director. He sent back a response, and it was so kind...and helpful, and happy that I had chosen to go there. It was like night and day compared to all the shit I've gone through with these schools. I guess I'm relieved.

Beck and I went out Friday night. So good to hang out. Got to meet the new boy. He's nice and sweet. So I approve. I'm happy for her. Yey beck.

Anyways...catch ya on the flip side.

Ummm yeah

So right now I am at Tech...the whole Visitor's Day sh-bang is over and I've been somewhat recounting almost every dumb thing I've done since the start of senior year at Dickinson. I should have taken the subject GRE then. I should have applied to schools then. I would have had a marginally better chance. I knew I liked doing the research...I should have just gone with it no matter how freakin' burned out I felt at the end of that year. I shouldn't have waited 1+ years to do applications.

Oh, Vanderbilt sent a no about a week and a half ago. I know NC State sent out acceptances *it's always good talking to some of the other gals here*, so I must be stuck in the "-uck me over and tell me no on April 10" pile. I was somewhat glad to hear that no one who was here over the weekend had heard from Duke either. But I think I'm certain what answer it is that I will get from them. I thought I heard something last night while wandering around that I was going to get in to Tech...but who knows...more than half the people there were drunk. Yes, the professors very much included. I love *wet* departments.

And you all thought I was somewhat smart. How is that for a kick in the face? I'll just go back to knitting, and teaching people how to multiply negative numbers, cause that is about all I am good for.

On I guess what would be considered a brighter note- I really did like the grad students here. They were very cool. Funniest thing I guess is that I ended up hanging out with this guy John, from Millersville, who knows the guy (Andrew) who gave literally the exact same talk as me at the Student Conference I had to give my billiards presentation (fortunately I went first). Oddly enough, I found out the Andrew is at Rutgers in NB doing graduate work there. Effin' small effin' world. So maybe if emailing occurs I might go say hello to him at some point. Who knows.

I guess maybe I'll go and start writing out some notes and such for my class even though I have no material with me. Or maybe some test questions or something. I'll just sit in the room debating my slim dinner options.

Mr. Rogers redeems himself...

Relationships are like dances in which people try to find whatever happens to be the mutual rhythm in their lives.

Yeah, that actually applies right now. Good job Mr. Rogers.

I probably shouldn't share....but one of the ladies I work with...their mom passed away last Friday. I am at a loss for words. It almost starts me traveling down a road...I don't think I can handle right now. Okay...i can't write about it or else I'll just start crying at my desk...for any myriad of reasons.

signing off.
